Rare Possible Prototype George Nakashima for Knoll “Straight Chair” – 7-Rung Back
$998.00
This is an exceptionally rare, possibly a prototype of the iconic Straight Chair, designed by master craftsman George Nakashima for Knoll in the late 1940s. Unlike the standard 9- rung production models, this early version features a distinctive 7-rung backrest, setting it apart as a limited prototype — few were ever made in this configuration. Handcrafted from solid wood with a warm, natural finish. Sculpted seat and tapered legs for comfort and elegance.
This chair is more than furniture — it’s a piece of design history. A must-have for collectors of Nakashima, Knoll, or mid-century modern masterpieces.
Excellent solid construction in vintage condition with minor signs of age. See shipping info below.
